Mrs. Durall is retiring this year after 37 years of teaching. She started teaching in the fall of 1947 at Kirksville High School and taught there until 1950. There, she and her family moved to Center, Missouri, where Mr. Durall (Buzz) started teaching. Their son Bill was born in 1950. Mrs. Durall started teaching at Center R-5 in 1951 and stayed there until 1953. The family then moved to Pike County, Illinois, and Mrs. Durall taught at UUest Pike at Kinderhook from 1955 through 1964. Then, she taught at Cast Pike High School from 1964 to January, 1969. She has been at Pittsfield High School from January, 1969, to the present time. Mrs. Durall has always taught business education during her career. She has been an excellent, organized caring teacher and will really be missed at PHS. UUe wish her happiness in her retirement and know that she will enjoy spending more time with her husband, family, grandchildren, and friends, and with her home, travel, and many interests. Thank you, Mrs. Durall, for your years of teaching service and for your support and dedication. 3 UUe would like to present to the students and faculty the 1987 edition of the Saukee Yearbook. We hope this yearbook will be o remembrance of the years we all spent here at Pittsfield High School. We have made many new changes this year and hope that you enjoy it. There are several people we wish to thank for all their help in putting this annual together, R special thanks to Kristi Whewell, our gopher and Kathy Sheppard, Teija Wossel, and Pam Weaver for all their help throughout the year. We also want to thank Billy Beard for designing the divider pages and Mrs. Dunn for preparing our dedication page. Thank you Mr. Mellon for helping us set up dotes for pictures, and Mr. Fox for taking all of our class, organization, and sports pictures. Good luck to oil the underclassmen for success in the future and to the S€NIORS good luck with your future lives. We hope your dreams come true. TO TH6 SENIORS Rs we reach out our hand The diploma we grasp. While we think of the memories Of the years in the past. Tears fill our eyes Because it’s all gone We're starting a new life, We have to move on. We hope friends will keep in touch Rs the years pass us by, Rlthough it hurts inside We'll try not to cry. We think of kindergarten Rnd our first day, Now we’ve reached the end We are going away. How do you say good-bye? To friends who mean so much Will there be time To sincerely keep in touch. Vou’ll always have the memories Of your school years from day one Don't think of school as ending — Think a new life has begun. 4 Seoted: Karen Puckett, Superintendent Dr. Richard Basden, Harry Gleckler, and Jim Gay. Missy Ottwell 104 This striking drama has established itself among the important plays of our time. It is based on the poetic conception of death suspending oil activities for three days during which period he assumes human form and falls in love with a beautiful girl and through her, realizes why mortals fear him. The mood of this play is established with remarkable skill and while it is charged with exciting moments, it is a perfect background for a love story. The character who symbolized Death is for the most part a very human sort of person, with none of the conventional claptrap that might easily have been dragged in for mere effect. This is a play that arouses thought, stimulates discussion, and presents a novel and optimistic philosophy on the problems of love and death. 105 106 SFINDIDG€ STUDIO A division of Merle Fox Photography Inc. 107 PITTSFIELD COMMUNITV SRLE UUEDNESDRV - SELLING HOGS THURSDRV - SELLING CRTTLE PITTSFIELD, ILLINOIS 108 Wendall Hall Circuit Clerk James Steinman Regional Director of Schools Cecil Burrows Circuit Judge Mike Lord Sheriff David Show State’s Attorney Robert Capps County Treasurer Carrol Hoover County Clerk Charles Dolbeare Supervisor of Assessments June Cooper Probation Officer 109 C ® I®r Me ’Ton M6M8CR ILLINOIS P€ST CONTROL ASSOCIATION Free Inspections r j Noble T€RMIT€ P€ST CONTROL Richard Noble 440 Susie Drive Pittsfield, Illinois 62363 (217) 285-6471 285-6748 1102 Lowry Congratulations class of '87 CONGRRTULRTIONS CLRSS OF 1987 The Dori-Ripple Route 36 West, P.O.
