MEMORIES Sometimes when death comes to someone we love, although we are sad and we miss them, we are in another sense happy because we no longer must watch them suffer and hurt knowing there is nothing we can do to help them or relieve their pain. We can remember them as they once were and know they are not suffering this way any more. We want to dedicate this page to the memory of Mrs. Claus, Nancy Lagemann, and Mr. Petty and offer our sympathy to their families.

AFTERTHOUGHT When I walked into the Saukee office today To finish the annual and send it on its way These are the thoughts that filled my mind: How can an editor get so far behind? In September the deadline seemed far away Now the time is gone and it's the last day. There are ads to be written, pictures arranged. The editorial really ought to be changed. In all this confusion the phone will ring The annual copy they want me now to bring. I ask for more time my task to complete Then they remind me there's a deadline to meet. So I put it all together, I gave it my best I hope as you read it, it passes your test. I send it forth with a tiny little prayer That this edition is as good as last year’s. Teresa Moss Warren Holloway As I finish my senior year and the 1980 Saukee annual, I want to express my thanks to the annual staff, the student body, and the teachers of Pittsfield High for their time and cooperation. Crystal Long, Debbie Willard, and Martha Schiieper, who were the assistant editor, layout editor, and the copy editor respectively, deserve a special thanks. Our sponsor Mrs. Durall has stood behind me, given me ideas, and been patient with me this year, and I want to thank her for her support. Finally, I want to wish the senior class of 1980 and the senior class of 1981 the best of luck in the future. Cheryl Burlend Editor
