Her friendliness to all will long be remembered. Rosalie was well - known and liked by all the students at PHS. It is then with the greatest admiration that this yearbook be in memory of Rosalie. It is only a small token of commemoration to her. We never understand why. but we know that God takes care of His children. THIS ANNUAL IS DEDICATED TO THE CLASS OF 1979: This is a beginning and an end And in the end is a beginning. We are many different types Working together in different ways from the beginning to the end. We have varied daydreams and ambitions . . . which we follow at our different paces. From the beginning to the end there are moments of success, elation, and sometimes sadness. The warmth of friendship: the loneliness of responsibility. Sometimes we feel tired or tragic But it ends with a smile. As parts of a whole we work together To finally reach the end that is a beginning. GOOD LUCK!!!!! Although many times we did not get things done until the last second, they were still done. Our hardworking class officers were: Kim Smith, president; Rick Frazier, vice-president; Becky Lamb, secretary; and Pat McCulloch, treasurer. All the money for our Senior activities came from candy sales and magazine sales. Cara Willard was high salesman in the magazine sales. During Homecoming our gorgeous float received second place. Our Homecoming queen was Rhonda Hayden, her Senior attendants were Jane Petty. Debbie Siltman. Rhonda Donohoo. Becky Lamb. Sarah Thomas. Kim Smith, and Kris Zumwalt. Our Senior cheerleaders this year were Rhonda Hayden. Sandy Burns, and Kim Mitchell, who helped cheer the Saukees on to a winning season. In Student Council, the class of '79 was represented by Grant Smith. Sarah Thomas. Linda Hilgedick. Craig Hayden. Kathy Richards, and Marty Niebur. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Johnson for all his help with our sometimes trying” class. We would also like to wish all our luck to the Seniors of 1980. As wc look back on our memories of high school, we will never forget all the great times we have had together at Pittsfield High School as the class of ’79. 26 Steve Adams Joanne Ator Roberta Ator Charles Baker Jim Barrow Laurie Baughman Charles Beck 1 Richard Allen I Dan Boren Kevin Breden Kandy Buchholz 28 Gary Cawthon Mike Clarkson Lynn Claybourne David Clendenny Rick Conrad Jim Cookey Jeffrey Craft Richard Crim Elmer Crossman Judy Daniels Lisa Jo Daniels Brian Dobbins Rhonda Donohoo Mark Duckworth Bonnie Forgy Jane Frazier Debbie Foster Gregory Foster Danne Dural] Rick Frazier Bcv Fussclman Bonnie Glover Lori Hall Jeff Hammitt Kathy Gratton Janet Greening Craig Hayden Rhonda Hayden Mary Hoover Brian Hanback Linda Harris Bill Haskins Helen Kay Helm Linda Hilgedick Marsha Huffman Joyce Hull Cathy Huntley Lori Hyde Linda Irvine Ben Johnson 33 Kay Johnson Carol Kelly Patricia Kramer John Lane Marsha Lierly Tina Leyerle Ronald Lair I Becky Lamb Kimberly Mitchell Pam Mitchell Marty McCartney 35 Pamela Long Rona Long Tim Lyman Rob Miller Shaun Mason Pat McCulloch Martha Nicbur Cindi Orr Cathy McEuen Janet Pearson Kenny Neff Jane Petty Jill O’Brien Kimberly Pine Tom Plattner Jim Reed Mark Piper Douglas Reeder Mike Piper Randy Rhodes Todd Curtis Price John Richards Kathy Richards Nanette Roberts Dan Ruble Margie Ruble Gary Ruble Teresa Williams Ruble Dena Ruyle 38 Carol Schwandner Mark Sealock Lynettc Shaw Dean Shepherd Debra Siltman Betsy Sloan Grant Smith Kimberly Smith 39 Tina Smith Gary Smothers Craig Sperry Jeff Stauffer Brenda Strother Michelle Suttles Dorothy Thomas 40 Sarah Thomas Scot Wade Steve Walker Bill Wassell Kimberly Watkins 41 Harry Wright Jerry Winningham Kris Zumwalt No picture available James Hoskins Dan Yascnko 42 SENIOR ACTIVITIES STEVE ADAMS Basketball 1.2.3.4; Baseball 1.2.3.4; Golf 1.2.3.4; Band 1.2.3.4; Jazz Band 3.4; Jr Class Treasurer; Latin Club 1.2.3.4; Who's Who Among American High School Students 4; Society of Distinguished High School Students 4 RICHARD BRIANT ALLEN IM's 1.2.3.4; Hall Monitor 2.3: Class Treasurer 1; Porjectionist Club 1.2.3.4; Basketball 1.2.3.4; Football 1.3.4; Track 1.4; Latin Club 1; FFA 1.2.3.4; Sentinel 2; Reporter 3: Photography Club 4; Letterman's Club 4 B JOANNE ATOR IM 1.2.3.4; FHA 1; Track 1; Softball 2.3.4; Basketball 3.4; Volleyball 1.2.3.4; GAA 1.2.3 ROBERTA ATOR Band 1.2.3.4; Latin Club 1.2.3.4; SAE 2.3; National Honor Society 3.4; State Pep Band 4; Who's Who Among American High School Students 3; Illinois State Scholar 4; TEAMS Competition 2nd place; Biology 4th CHARLES EUGENE BAKER Basketball 1.2.3.4; Band 1; Letterman’s Club 3.4; Most Rebounds 3; Highest Field Goal Percentage 3; IM Softball 2.3.4; IM Ping-Pong 4 JAMES W BARROW Football 1.2.3; Bleacher Bums 1.2.4; President 4; Class President 1; Class Treasurer 2; Play-High Cockalorum 1; Projectionist 1.2.3.4; Hall Monitor 2.3; Photography Club 4; Latin Club 1; Spanish Club 2; IM 1.2.3.4; Volleyball Champions 3.4 LAURIE ANN BAUGHMAN Band 1.2.3.4; Pep Band 4; Hall Monitor 2.4; Who's Who Among American High School Students 3; FHA 1; Industrial Arts Club 2 CHARLIE K BECK Band 1; Co-op 4 DANNY GALE BOREN Baseball 1.2; Track 3. 4; Basketball 1; Football 4. Mr. Johnson and Mr. Seybold were ready to leave on Easter weekend for a two day stay at Tan-Tar-A Resort. After boarding the bus early Friday morning, the Seniors, complete with Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. Mrs. Acuff. and Mr. Seybold. stopped mid-morning to eat at Kingdon City. They then went to the Bridal Cave and on to Tan-Tar-A. where they all had their separate condominiums to stay in. They spent the rest of the day swimming, exploring, etc. After eating dinner at a smorgasbord, they boarded the Larry Don for a disco on an excursion boat. The next morning, some went to the Strip”, while others stayed around the resort sunning themselves. On the last night of their stay, they had a dinner at the main lodge followed by a dance. When this was over, the Seniors returned to their rooms to take advantage of what time they had left. The following morning, all the Seniors loaded up on their chartered buses and left the Ozarks. They are not sure what condition they left it in. but whatever it was. it was worth it!!' SENIOR TRIP JUNIOR CLASS The Junior class of 78-79 had a great year. The hardworking class officers this year were Tracey Halpin. president; Judy Lowe, vice-president; Nancy Ward, secretary; Shane Bcrtagnolli. treasurer; (and Mr. Woods, how could we forget him!) The six people who represented us in Student Council were Rob Carroll. Roseann Davis. Rich Ellis. Lisa Burbridge. Robin Smith, and Julie Hammitt We started our year off just great. The dunking stand and candy sales provided us with sufficient funds for the school year. Our homecoming attendants this year were Julie Hammitt and Gail Glccklcr. We had three cheerleaders from our class: Linda Booth. Debbie Loutzenhiser. Traci Yonikus. With the brillant minds of the Junior class we put together a beautiful prom Saturday in the Park Music was by Candy. Our 1979 Prom Queen was Julie Hammitt. escorted by Tracy Shelton. Her court consisted of Robin Malcomson. escorted by Bill Stone; Gail Gleckler, escorted by Shane Bertagnolli; Lila Smith, escorted by Jeff McCartney; and Traci Yonikus. escorted by Joe Petty. We wish the Seniors good luck and hope that they go far. A very special thanks to Mr. Woods for all his time and effort to make OUR JUNIOR YEAR at PHS a very memorable one. 50 Vickie Baldwin Brent Baughman Earl Baxter Lisa Beard Robert Benz Steve Bergman Shane Bertagnolli Becky Bonnett Linda Booth Lori Brown Akela Buchholz Lisa Burbridge Michael Burbridge Cheryl Burlend Pamela Butler Lila Capps Valerie Carlton Rob Carroll Ron Cawthon Richard Clendenny Charlottee Couch Buddy Coultas William Cummings Diane Dark 51 Judy Davis Daniels Roseann Davis Jennifer Douglas Pamela Ducstcrhaus Diane Duff Pamela Duke Ann Eatock Steven Edwards Richard Ellis Katherin Fletcher Jill Frazier Gail Gleckler Lisa Goewey Sally Gosnell Jeff Griggs Nancy Grimes David Hall Tracey Halpin Cindy Halsey Dejaynes Julie Hammitt Harley Hanback Doug Harter Kris Haskins Mike Heightman 52 Darrell Hill Eric Hull Shari Hull Regina Johns Clyde Kallal Brett Kelley Lisa Kelly Nathan Kepley Alttia Lander Karen Lane Terry Leahr Debbie Leavell Cammic Leedy Cindy Lewis Lori Lierly Pamela Logsdon Debbie Loutzcnhiser Judy Lowe Robin Malcomson Donna Meyer Tom Miller Ken Mitchell Matthew Mixer Richard Myers 53 William Myers Jeffrey McCartney Dana McConnell Robert McNulty Deborah Neese Karen Neff Donald Newman Douglas Newman Sally Nichol Jill Niebur Kevin Painter Linda Parks Joseph Petty Lyn Pine Jackie Prcdmorc Tina Pruett Gregg Ratliff Rebecca Reel David Rhodes Thomas Rose Chris Roundcount Rick Ruble Jane Rupert Judy Sapp 54 Rene Saunders Richard Schwandner Jane Stewart Rhodora Stewart Jack Scranton Laura Scranton Andy Seymour Tracy Shelton David Sheppard Rick Sidwell Lila Smith Martin Smith Robin Smith Shellie Smith William Stone Sherol Stotler Greg Suttles Sherry Sutton Tom Tepen Clyde Thomas James Tittsworth James Ward Mary Ward Nancy Ward 55 57 SOPHOMORE CLASS Our Sophomore year started out great. Our Homecoming float won first place. Our Homecoming attendants were Sandy Brown and Lori Harter. Scott Andress. Becky Hilgedick. Brad Smith. Jennifer Smith, and Susan Willard led us in Student Council. Our Sophomore cheerleaders were Tammy Shepherd and Kathy Weir, who did a great job. Our class officers were Lori Harter, president; Melanie Anders, secretary; and Ronnie Rush, treasurer. Our money-making projects included the basketball stand at the Fall Festival, the concession stand at the Sophomore Tournament, a bake sale, and selling Honk if You’re a Saukee Fan bumper stickers, and the remaining Saukee pins. We want to congratulate Bill McCartney for making the varsity tournament team and Becky Hilgedick who went to sectional speech contest. Also, thanks to Mrs. Acuff for all of her help. 58 Rebecca Acuff Beanita Adams Scott Andress Melanie Anders Gary Baughman Lori Baughman Terry Borrowman Sandra Brown Alinda Burbridge Danny Burnett Rhonda Burnett Rich Butler Randy Carle Ronnie Carter Marti Clarkson Greg Collard Tim Craft Marcia Daniel Darla Dark Donald Dark Lori Decker Terry Dejaynes Jan Desgrange Brenda Doyle 59 Ann Duesterhaus Angela Dunham Alan Dyer Mike Ehlert Penny Ervin Jeanette Fish Kelly Fletcher Richard Flock Valeric Flock Lucille Franklin Kent Gallaher Sarah Gerard Donna Greening Shirley Grimsley Todd Halpin Lori Harter Terry Haskins Mark Hatton Joe Heightman Rebecca Hilgedick David Hill Earl Hull Susan Hyde Donnie Johns 60 Cindy Johnson Tom Johnson Jeff Kepley Troy Kingery Darlene Kramer Nancy Lagemann Clemit Lane Tom Lawson Marty Lear Elizabeth Lemons Sheila Lewis Lason Leyerle Ann Long Crystal Long Tina Malcomson Kevin Manard Jackie Miller Patrick Miller Rusty Miller Donald Moore Leanna Mulkins Becky Myers Bill McCartney Mary McDonald 61 Janice McGlasson Marcia McKenna Gary McNulty Shawn O'Brien Robin Parsons Pamela Pearson Chris Petty Kay Pine Peggy Piper Dusty Poor Lori Ralph Jeff Ransom Laurie Reeder Michael Reel William Reel Richard Rennecker Curt Renoud Pam Roberts Carol Rupert Bruce Rush Carol Rush Harshman Debra Rush Ronnie Rush Vince Sanderson 62 Mike Sargent Carl Scranton James Shade Lori Shaw Tammy Shepherd Keela Shinn Dan Sievers Cam Simmons Bradley Smith Jennifer Smith Rick Spann David Sperry Raymond Spoonmore Carla Spurgeon Pam Thrasher Sandra Triplett Lisa Wade Shirl Wagner Nancy Walston Steve Ward Sandy Wassell Leslie Waters Mark Watts Kathy Weir 63 Jacl Wilkcy Susan Willard Melissa Williams Sandy Wintjen Patricia Woffard Thomas Wombles Rod Wyckoff Pam Young Randy Zumwalt Rick Zumwalt No pictures available Duane Bcnoist Richard Johns Chris Sanders 64 FRESHMAN CLASS The Freshman class of ’82 had a terrific year. We had a variety of hard-working people who were always on the go. We were led by our class officers: Marquita Sheppard, president; Troy Sapp, vice-president; Sandy Snyder, secretary; and David Craft, treasurer. We were really well represented in the Student Council by Marcia Meyer. Scott Sanderson. Judy Grimes. Tim Giger. and Amy Dean, who all did a fabulous job. We got the year off by fattening our class piggy bank by two bake sales, and also fattened up the spectators at the Girls’ Basketball Team with our concession stand. Although our Homecoming float didn't receive first, our two Homecoming attendants. Laura Moore and Shelly Stotler were a grand prize. We were kept peppy all season by our class cheerleaders. Shelly Rush. Leslie McCartney. Sandy Frazier, and Mary Frazier. We had a great year and all we can say is thanks to one of the greatest sponsors. Mrs. Dunn. She’s the greatest!
