Although at times it seemed impossible, we never doubted that the end of our high school days would arrive. This years senior class officers were Vice-president. Cathy Sandidge; Treasurer. Jeff Dempsey; Secretary. Barb Robertson and the slave-driving but good-hearted President Joe Weir. Magazine sales were a success, so to speak, with our high sales person being Julie Dodd. Our concession stands during football and basketball season and our stand during the noon hour helped to give us a financial boost. Our homecoming queen was Tammy McConnell and her senior attendants were Anita Strother. Barb Robertson. Gina Prentice. Mary Ann Hubbard, Chris Barton. Donna Phillips and honorary attendant Jane Lowe. Our student council members were: Sam Ferguson. Bob Bigley. Julie Dodd. Jan Dodd, and Mary Iftner. They were led by their brave and ferocious president Bobbie Dorow. Our varsity cheerleaders who did a fine job of cheering our Saukees on to victories were: Gina Prentice. Jonie Frazier. Stephanie Smith and Jane Lowe. Our single Saukette who also did an excellent job was Teresa Lanhum. Bobbie Dorow received the D.A.R. award and Sam Ferguson was the recipient of the S.A.R. award. Danforth Foundation award winners were Joe Weir and Nancy Clostermery. We’d like to thank Mr. Johnson for the help he has given us throughout the year and especially the encouragement he gave us to pursue our idea of going on an overnight senior trip, at a time when all hope seemed lost. Our goal was achieved and the class of ’77 became the first P.H.S. class in 10 years to go on a 48-hr. trip. A special thanks to all those who made our last year at P.H.S. and our trip to Schuss Mountain memorable events to look back on. Good luck to each in whatever you may choose to do. 26 RICK ALSPAUGH Football 1,2; Football Manager 3,4; Track Manager 3; Chief Box Collector 3.4 CHRIS BARTON Chorus 1,2.3.4; GAA 1.2.3,4; Pep Club 2; Hall Monitor 3; NHS 4; Annual Staff 2.3.4; SAE 4; Class Personality 1; Homecoming Attendant 4; Pike County Choral Festival 1.4 DON BAUGHMAN FFA 1.2,3.4; Intramural Basketball 2 KATHI BAUGHMAN FHA 1.2,3; SAE 4; Hall Monitor 2 KURT D BAUMANN Chess Club 1.2,3,4; Projectionist Club 1; Photography Club 4; President 4; Cross Country 1; Bleacher Bums 1; Intramural Basketball 1 TIMOTHY E. BUCK 42 It was 5:00 am when 50 droopy Seniors boarded the chartered buses in front of the high school to embark upon our trip to Michigan, and it was 3:30 p.m. when a group of Seniors who had been shut up in a bus too long, emerged upon the kingdom of Schuss in Mancelona. Michigan. After having time to unpack and freshen up. we went to the dining room to enjoy a meal by candle light and a crackling fire. Afterwards we journeyed into the recreation and game room where some of the seniors exhausted their supply of change on the pinball machines. Then it was a night of swimming in a steamy outdoor pool and dancing at a Disco party from 8:00 til 12:00. The next morning breakfast was served for those who got up in time. After skiing down Schuss Mountain on lunch trays we dried our clothes and enjoyed a box lunch while watching movies. That afternoon we gambled at a casino set up by our hosts and made bids on prizes which were auctioned off. After that, the gift and sports shops were poured into and there was time to relax and take a swim. After a filling supper, we gathered up our belongings and boarded the buses. It was the same group of tired Seniors who stumbled out into the parking lot at 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning. But we were lucky, for we had many Michigan memories to remember as a group long after that week-end was over. THE SENIOR TRIP 44 45 Classes 46 JUNIOR CLASS Our Junior year started off with a big splash in a septic tank. Thanks to the firemen, our dunking stand at the Bicentennial Festival was a success. Under the management of our advisor. Mr. Woods, and with the organization of our officers. Polly Dorrow. President; Nancy Gleckler. Vice-President; Lisa Daniels. Secretary; and Matt Shaw, Treasurer, we held our title of “Undefeated Homecoming Float Winners” for the third consecutive year. The candy sales were a success. Our Homecoming attendants were Cathy Allen and Toy Shelton. We were well represented in student Council by Cathy Allen. Chip Barber. Cecilia Fisher. Roger Benz. Paula Weir, and Sarah Roodhouse. The Junior cheerleaders were Brenda Deeder and Toy Shelton. After a lot of hard work, we put together a beautiful prom with the theme “Nights Are Forever”. Our Prom queen was Cathy Allen escorted by Chip Barber. Lisa Daniels, Kelle Dunham. Brenda Deeder. and Toy Shelton made up the court. The court was escorted by Terry Halpin. Mike Gerard. Bill Aiken, and David Barton. We’d like to give a special thanks to our advisor. Mr. Woods, for all the time and effort he put in to help make our Junior year a memorable one. 47 Bill Aiken Rita Akers Cathy Allen Debbie Anders Jeannic Baggett Nan Baldwin Chip Barber David Barton Vickie Barton Donald Baxter Roger Benz Pam Bick Greg Booth Tami Brown Kim Buchanan Bill Burton Kevin Butler Robin Capps Steve Caughlan Rodney Cobb Mike Collard Doug Collins Chris Conger Mike Craddock Lisa Daniels Teresa Dark Jerry Davis Brenda Deeder Polly Dorow Kelle Dunham 48 Eddie Ehlert Carolyn Ehredt Darlene Ewing Tim Ferguson Cecilia Fisher Tom Flock Anita Foster Mike Gerard Nancy Gleckler Cheryl Gosncll Gary Graham Bonnie Guthrie Terry Halpin Kathy Harig Russ Harlow Cathy Harter Debbie Haskins Steve Hayden Beverly Helm Debbie Helm Steve Hendrickson Patty Hill George Hoos Jody Hull Wendy Hyde Denise Jobe Linda Jones Terri Kelly Brad Kingery Dan Kenady 49 Kevin Leahr Joe Liggett Ellen Lindquist Jeff Long Rhonda Long Cindy Loutzenhiser Shelly Martin Susan Martin Lynn McAnarney Kellie McCallister Jay McCann Teresa McGlasson Becky Miller Susan Miller Kathy Minear Steve Moon Rita Morris Sarah Myers Jane Nichol Gary Niffen Larry Niffen Beth Noble Bob Norris Patty Phillips Richard Piper Kelly Printz Kathy Pryor Karen Ralph Bill Reel Cindy Renoud 50 Barb Roberts Sarah Roodhouse Diana Rush Marsha Schlieper Sherry Scranton Matt Shaw Toy Shelton Wanda Shoemaker Joyce Smart Carl Smith David Smith Dawn Smith Robert Spalding James Spoonmore Bob Steffa Annette Street Jeri Stucker Paula Syrclc Barbara Thomas Diane Totsch Cindy Triplett Charlie Ward Kathy Ward Tammy Wassell Mike Webel Paula Weir Steve Welbourne Maggie Williams Carol Winningham Tammie Wofford 51 Beth Yokcm 52 SOPHOMORE CLASS This year’s Sophomore class officers were: President Kim Smith. Vice-President Valeri Davis. Secretary Becky Lamb and Treasurer Jim Barrow. Craig Hayden, Linda Hilgedick, Shaun Mason, Grant Smith, and Sarah Thomas were our hard-working student council representatives. Financially speaking, food was usually on our minds as we sponsored the concession stand at the Sophomore Tourney, a bake sale, the District Volleyball Tournament and candy sales. We also had a basketball stand at the Bi-fest. Sandy Burns and Kris Zumwalt were our Homecoming attendants. Rhonda Hayden and Kim Mitchell were our fine cheerleaders. We had a fine Homecoming float: unfortunately, the emotions of the judges differed from ours and we received third.
