THE UNANIMOUS DECLARATION Of The Senior Class of 1956, P,l-I. S. When in course of school events, it becomes necessary for the Senior Class to dissolve the education bonds which have connected it to the other classes, and to assume the duties of citizenship for which their school life has prepared them, a decent respect to the opinion of the other classes requires that they should transcribe this history leading up to their graduation. We, the Senior Class of 1956, entered the halls of P. H. S. in the fall of 1952, feeling a bit apprehensive but eager to begin our higher education. Our class congress elected Paul Smith, President: Don Harter, Vice Presidentg Norma Jones, Secretaryg and Khoy Sanderson, Treasurer. Joyce Gard, Anne Aldrich, and Roger Frazier were to represent us on the Student Council. The class representatives to Homecoming were Helen Winston and Connie Shue. Mr. Kuethe was our very patient advisor. As our second session convened, we elected as class officers, Bill Ferguson, Presidentg Khoy Sanderson, Vice Presidentg Tom Plattner, Secretary, and Carole Melton, Treasurer. Miss Bueker was a very helpful advisor during this year. Annie Dimmitt, Anne Aldrich, and Tom Petty were elected to the Student Council. Our class representatives to the Homecoming were Ina Strother and Carole Melton. As Junior Statesmen, we began our third session by electing class officers Tom Petty, President, Paul Smith, Vice Presidentg Connie Shue, Secretaryg Bill Goodin, Treasurer. Annie Dimmitt, Paul Payne, and Bill Ferguson represented our class on the Student Council. Class representatives at Homecoming were Annie Dimmitt and Anne Aldrich. Our play, Men Arc Like Streetcars, was under the leadership of Miss Harman. The proceeds were used to ,finance the Junior-Senior Prom, Garden In The Rain, of which Ina Strother was crowned Queen. Miss McGuire was our very considerate and helpful advisor this year. Taking our honored places as Senior statesmen, we chose as our govern- ing body Don Smith, President, Beverly Harris, Vice President, Mary Lee Benjamin, Secretaryg and Harley Whitlock, Treasurer. Jim Gay, Joyce Gard, and Reg Dunham represented us on the Student Council. Annie Dimmitt presided as President. Ten senior girls were attendants to our Homecoming Queen, Connie Shue. A special thanks goes to Mr. Fesler for his very excellent leadership during our senior year. And for the support of this Declaration and with a firm reliance on what the future holds for us, we mutually pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor. i
