CLASS HISTORY FRESHMAN In September 1952 the Semors of 55 started to P1ttsf1eld H1gh School as class of 86 Freshmen At frrst we d1dn't know our way around but we soon learned And of course 1n1t1at1on was a day we w1ll never forget At the f1rst of our class meet1ngs we elected our off1cers Pres1dent Curt Alken V1ce Pres1dent Betty McKenna Secretary Jack Barber and Treasurer Denms Heavener ln our next electlon Beverly McK1nney Zoe Benson and Bob Frazler were elected to the Student Counc1l Zoe was Treasurer of the Student Counc1l The ma1n event 1n the fall was Homecom1ng so Beverly McK1nney and Betty McKenna were selected as attendants to the Queen Our adv1sor throughout the year was Mr Kuethe SO PHO MOR E In 1953 we entered P H S aga1n w1th a class of 82 Sophomores After the confus1on of the flrst week of school we elected the follow1ng offlcers Presl dent Denms Heavener V1ce Pres1dent M1ke Curless Secretary Bob Fraz1er and Treasurer Leon Roads Zoe Benson was Secretary of the Student Counc1l and our other representatlves were Beverly McK1nney and Curt A1ken Bonnle Lashmett and Zoe Benson were elected Homecom1ng attendants to the Queen MISS Harpole was our very helpful sponsor We feel that our Sophomore class was well represented nd we look forward to bemg Upper Classmen JUNIOR and Mr W1lson the 73 .Tumors had a very enjoyable year The off1cers elected were Pres1dent Jack Barber V1ce Pres1dent Ralph Arnold Secretary Peggy Ducey and Treasurer Carol Cantrell Student Counc1l members were Beverly McK1nney Carolyn Carroll and Charles H1r she1mer Beverly was VICE Pres1dent The Junlor Class Play 'No Boys Allowed presented on December ll was dlrected by M1ss Bueker A net prof1t of S300 was made The money was used to f1nance the Junlor Sen1or Prom 'Mardl Gras ' Everyone 1S looklng forward to becom1ng a Senlor SENIOR W1th Mr Fesler as our sponsor we returned to P H S Wlth 68 Senlors We chose for offlcers Pres1dent DIDHIS Heavener V1ce Pres1dent .I C McCleery Secretary Gene McKee and Treasurer B111 I-lopklns Student Counc1l members were M1ke Curless Ehzabeth Mcl-lose Wendell Conger and Beverly McK1nney who 15 Pres1dent Kay Frank Carol Cantrell And Zoe Benson were Homecorrung attendants to the Queen Carol Barber We hope the other classes have as many happy days as we have had , , . , . . . a ' I . , . . . . : . , s ' , 9 , s , ' . SHIRLEY HOLMES-Shirley is well deserving of this award. She is very active and hard working in school. Shirley has been active in F. H. A. and Band for four years. She was also in the Glee Club three years, Senior Editor of the Annual, and Secretary of the National Honor Society this year. Shirley will long be remembered by everyone because of her quiet but always sweet ways. DENNIS HEAVENER-Dennis is a well known and liked student at P.l-I. S. who well deserves this award. Dennis was the very able captain of our football team this year. We of the Senior Class appreciated his work as President of the Class and also his willingness to help when he is asked. Dennis, who received the citizenship award last year, will long be remembered by his classmates because of his always friendly ways. SENIOR CITIZENSHIP AWARDS The Senior Class this year chose Shirley Holmes and Dennis Heavener as the D A R and S A R award winners Kay Frank and Mike Curless were chosen for the Danforth Foundation Awards MIKE CURLESS Mike because of his wonderful and willing work as business appreciated by everyone Mike has also given much time to the National Honor Society Student Council and last year served as President of the F F A With his pleasant manners and friendly smile Mike is deserving of the citizenship award KAY FRANK Kay will be remembered for her services as the President of Class play National Honor Society Glee Club and Mixed Chorus as well as her cheerful smile and willing ways have made her many friends Best luck from MAIN'S JEWELRY 64 6 A A 5- I manager of the Annual, will always be F.H.
