CLASS HISTORY FRESHMAN YEAR We entered P.H.S. in September, 1950, as a class of one hundred and twelve green Freshmen.” On the first day we were a little confused, but we soon learned the routine of our new school. Initiation day was a very memorable day of our Freshman year. At our first class meeting we elected our classi officers: President, Jim Harmison; Vice-President, Jim Sidwell; Secretary, David Plattner; and Treasurer, Janice Hoover. Joyce Harmison was Treasurer of the Student Council, and our other representatives to the Student Council were Claudine Weaver and Richard Daigh. Our Helpful sponsors who guided us throughout the year were Mrs. Courtney and Mr. Kuethe. SOPHOMORE YEAR We returned to P.H.S. in September, 1951, with one hundred and two Sophomores. As our class officers, we elected: Bill Baughman, President; Bill Doyle, Vice-President; Bob Gram-mer, Secretary; and Nancy Miller, Treasurer. Our Student Council members were Richard Daigh, Charles Lowery, and Bill Baughman. Charles Lowery was chosen Secretary to the Student Council. Miss Harpole was our very patient sponsor. We all looked forward to becoming Upper Classmen. JUNIOR YEAR Our Junior class of ninety-six students enjoyed a happy and a most unforgettable year under the leadership of Miss McGuire. We chose for our class officers: President, Jim Harmison; Vice-President, Jack Logsdon; Secretary, Mary Ellen Dickerson; and Treasurer, Sherman Lombard. The members of the Student Council from our Junior class were Catherine Cunningham; Jim Sidwell; and Bill Baughman. The Junior class play, Finders Creepers, a comedy, was given on November 21. It was directed by Miss Bueker with the help of the Student Directors, Barbara Forgy and Joyce Petty. The net profit from the play was $369.50, which was put in the Junior class fund for the Jr.-Sr. Banquet. The theme for the Jr.-Sr. Banquet was Song of the Islands. Everyone looked forward to becoming a Senior. SENIOR YEAR We returned to P.H.S. in September, 1953, with eighty-six Seniors. We elected for our class officers: Rex Wade, President; Richard Daigh, Vice-President; Marvin Fesler, Secretary; and Charles Collins, Treasurer. Jim Sidwell was President of the Student Council. Our other representatives to the Student Council were David Plattner, Georgann Sapp, and Darla Strother. The Senior Play, Valley of the Ghosts,” was given on April 9. It was directed by Miss Harman. The net profit from the play and the square dances was put in the Senior class fund for the Senior trip. We wish to thank Mr. Fesler for his excellent leadership, which has made our Senior year a more memorable and happy year. We hope that the underclassmen will enjoy their four years of high school at P.H.S. as much as we have enjoyed ours. HOME FURNITURES 19
