SENIOR CLASS HISTORY FRESHMAN YEAR We entered P.H.S. in September, 1949 as a class of eighty-five green Freshmen. After several days of getting lost and finding ourselves in the wrong classes, we finally got into the routine of our new school. Initiation day was a very memorable day of our Freshman year. With the guidance of our sponsor, Mr. Fesler, our first class election was held. We elected John Metternich as president; Tom McCarter as Vice President; and Richard Hall as Secretary-Treasurer. Patsy Paxton, Phyllis Smith, and Morris Predmore were chosen to represent us on the Student Council. SOPHOMORE YEAR We held our own in 1950 by entering again with eighty-five sophomores. As our class officers, we elected: President, Sally Ferguson; Vice President, Richard Frazier; Secretary-Treasurer, Dick Billings. Our Student Council members were Patsy Paxton, Dick Billings, and Clinton Goodin. Our ever patient sponsor was Miss Harpole. JUNIOR YEAR 1951, and at last we were upper classmen, although there were only seventy-three of us left. At the beginning of the year we elected as our class officers: President, Dick Billings; Vice President, George Totsch; Secretary, Clinton Goodin; Treasurer, Richard Frazier. Student Coun- cil members chosen were Patsy Paxton, Wayland Willard, and Sally Ferguson. Our Junior Play, Teen Time was presented on November 16, under the direction of Miss Bueker. Later an original play, Frosty to the Rescue ’ was presented to the lower grades. Proceeds from these plays were used to finance the Junior-Senior Banquet. With the leadership of our sponsor. Miss McGuire, we presented a very beautiful banquet centered around the theme Show Boat. SENIOR YEAR At last we are Seniors, 66 in number. Our class officers are: President, Don Doyle; Vice President, John Swearingen; Secretary, Richard Frazier; Treasurer, Marion Yokem. Senior Student Council members are John Swearingen, Sally Ferguson, Margaret Knipmeyer, and Patsy Paxton, who is President of the Council. Robert Cook, Asa McCartney, and LeRoy Coultas, veterans, and Mary Sackett, who plans to go to nurses training will receive their diplomas with us. Now that our High School days are over we are sad at leaving, but we are looking forward to many happy days in the future. We very sincerely thank our sponsor. Miss Blaeuer for her help and encouragement and also all the other faculty members who have been very kind and thoughtful. We wish to you, underclassmen, as many good times as we have experienced during our High School years. 22
