MR. ROWE To you, Mr. Rowe, we wish to express our thanks for the many years of faithful service you have rendered Pittsfield High School. We know that many, many times we have taxed your patience to the fullest with our childish pranks. Because of your good nature, you stayed late many nights, so we could have parties after ball games. We want to thank you, Lewe Rowe, and we are sorry you have left P.H.S. We’ll miss you. FAREWELL TO DEAR OLD PITTSFIELD Or should I say, Until we meet again ? No one could have lived in the friendly city of Pittsfield for the greater part of twenty-three years and leave it without regretting to do so. Add to the friendliness of the city, the daily contacts with hundreds of attractive and interesting students and understanding co-operative and helpful members of the Faculty, one must say merely, Until we meet again” and not Farewell . To the Faculty members I can sincerely say as Lord Chatham of England said about that immortal body of men who drew up our Constitution in 1787, You have no equal and you will have no superior. To the Juniors who have been in my class during the past three years, I wish to say, as I judge the other Juniors by you, I regret that I can not remain and guide you through American History. To my fourth and eighth hour study halls, which contained practically all of the Sophomores, may I say if you conduct yourself in the future study halls as you have in these two during the past year, all teachers will enjoy their study halls with you present. To the Freshmen: remember please, next year when you have advanced to the status of Sophomores, treat those new little Freshmen as you would like to have been treated—not as you were. I shall miss you too. Last but by no means least, Senior Class of '53. All that I have said in the past year I have meant. You have truly been a wonderful class. I shall never forget your kindness, thoughtfulness, industry and co-operation. Above all I shall ever cherish those little chats we had before school started in the morning and noon. If you work as diligently and keep as interested in your future work as you have in my history classes, then my wish for you will be fulfilled. That wish is that you will become engaged in the work for which you are best fitted and which you will enjoy the most. The work that will help you to enjoy life thoroughly with those in whom you are interested. Yes, I shall see you again, perhaps, who knows, at the laying of the corner stone of our new school building. I leave with a song in my heart, a song that is composed of the many, many memories which each and every one of you has contributed. Until we meet again. Your Friend and Well Wisher, M.G.B.
