For the first time in history there were more women than men enrolled at the University. The statistics showed a total of 2,603 women and 2,528 men. University officials said the increase in women’s enrollment had been a gradual trend for the past 10 years. The year was full of sad times as well as happy ones. Three people who were of major prominence at the university died during 1981. Dr. Thomas J.
