All experiments are calcu- lated and theorized before they are ever tried. The chemistry department shares the ten lab rooms of the biology department and also uses the facilities of Yates Hall. Degrees are offered in chemistry, physical science, natural science, or a combination of chemistry and physical science. The departmental organization is the Student Affiliate of the American Chemical Society which is associated with the National Chemistry Society.

Degrees are offered in the various phases of business-such as accounting, marketing, office administration, and business administration-liberal arts. Chapters of various national professional business organizations are available for majors and minors in the KSC business department. They include: Alpha Kappa Psi, professional business fraternity for men, Pi Omega Pi, national honorary business education fraternity, Phi Beta Lambda, international future business leaders of America, Society for the Advancement of Manage- ment, and the National Collegiate Secretaries Association. As a service to the area, the department spon- sors short-term seminars and conferences for business, industrial and teacher organizations. Members of the teaching staff frequently serve as discussion leaders for these events.
