ADMINISTRA TIUN Dean Wright, Dean of Men Dean Watson, Dean of Women Certain areas of student life are the specific responsibility of the Dean of Men. Activities are arranged each year at the opening of the fall semester to help new students make a good start in college. Times and places for all college events are scheduled in his office. The Inter-fraternity Council meets each Week in the office of the Dean of Men. While the responsibilities mentioned above are undertaken to provide a general con- structive situation for college men, special prob- lems arise for many students. Mr. Carlyn, Plant Superintendent. Mr. Beougher, Business Manager The Dean of Women works with Women stu- dents to provide a varied, worth-While activities program which will implement the goals of Kansas State College in promoting intellectual and cultural growth. The Dean of Women serves as an advisor to the Associated Women Students and the Panhellenic Council. She also works with the directors and officers of the residence halls to develop effective governing councils and advisory boards. Students listen attentively to a discussion in class. M. BIOLOGY The Biology department receives many re- search grants for graduate students and pro- fessors. This year, the department is Working with six 3400.00 stipends for undergraduate research. The Kansas State College Biology department offers a series of pre-professional degrees, rang- ing from pre-medical to pre-forestry. Most of these are two year courses. They also offer a Master of Science in Biology or Natural Science. This department is staffed with eleven pro- fessors and operates in ten lab rooms. In addition to the lab rooms, which are well equipped for a smaller college, they have a seventy-acre field lab.
