An all-school convocation was held on Septem- ber 30. At this assembly, President Axe officially opened the 58th year of Kansas State College. In his speech, the President stressed the great need for maximum development of the mind. This opening convocation had been postponed twice lmecause of late installation of new seats in Carney Auditorium. On October 3, with a gold shovel, President Axe broke the ground for the construction of a new edu- cation and psychology building. Pictured with the President are Frank Freeto and L. B. Carlyon. NLife with Father , re-opened Saturday, October 12. This three-act play Was hrst presented in the Tent-lmy-the-Lake during the summer session. Staged in Carney, the production was received with Warm enthusiasm. The Kansas State College Hand, under the direc- tion oi Mr. Russell Pugh of the music department, plays at many college functions.
