faculty slice watermelon Each summer the college sponsors a watermelon feed for families of faculty and students. This year the feed was held July 27 at the college lake. Presi- dent Axe led the department and administrative heads in the slicing of over 4000 pounds of Water- melon. This procedure of slicing melons has been a tradition on the summer K-State campus for many years. The feed was preceded by a performance of the college band. 1 ' :LAP shi. 'I7

Un Sunday after- noon, Septemlier ll, students and their families Were guests at a reception in the Student Center. The hustle and hustle of enrollment liegan early Monday morning. With the college,s greatly in- creased student lmody this fall, the experience was especially harrowing. The lines, including the one at the hook store, seemed never to end.
