History can be found in text books, personal diaries and yearbooks. The history of Kansas State Col- lege is well-known. Founded in 1903 as the Auxiliary Manual Training Normal School, this college is the youngest of the five state institutions of higher learning in Kansas. Though young in comparison with many other colleges and universities, Kansas State College has an eventful past to reflect upon. It's history is filled with evidences of worthy objectives, strong personali- ties, growing standards, splendid educational services, genuine interest and loyalty of the citizens of the community and ofthe state. In 1960 Kansas State College will see its 60th year of existence. It has progressed from the Auxiliary Manual Training School to Kansas State Teachers College to Kansas State College.
