HUFFMAN Basic Science and Biology Hi-Y Sponsor Junior Academy of Science MAX STRUBLE Chemistry and Physics Hi-Y Sponsor junior Academy of Science MATHEMATICS Pittsburg Senior High School is proud of its achieve- ments and records in preparing its students for vocations dealing with mathematics. Not only does the school offer two years of algebra, but also it provides classes in plane and solid geometry and trigonometry for the advanced scholar. LABORATCRY SCIENCES The science department is one of twelve in southeastern Kansas to participate in an experiment to determine 'the effectiveness of filmed science courses. Physics classes combine filmed teaching with classroom experiments to provide a well-rounded program. Chem- istry classes are controlled and are taught in the usual manner with time divided between discussion and lab- oratory.
