Guidance services offered by means of individual in- terviews and conferences, various scholastic aptitude tests, and background studies of students, form a frame- work for guidance advice. Interviews and background information make it possible to understand a student and his personal difficulties, aptitude tests indicate the abilities of the person in specific fields. During the year numerous tests are given throughout the school for guidance purposes. Reading tests are given in the sophomore and junior English classes, scholastic ability tests are given in the junior yearg and Senior Comprehension tests are given to all seniors under super- vision of the guidance office. In addition, special tests including the Merit Scholarship Test, Preliminary Schol- arship test, and special ability tests are provided by the guidance office upon request of the student.
