The success of any institution is greatly influenced by its beginning. We, therefore, dedicate this, the Golden Anniversary year- book, to that first class of 1888. The path has been long and the obstacles many, but as that pioneer class finished its course in a day of educational shortcomings, so have successors built up a tradition of scholarship and valor to Whfch We hope the class of 1938 can add at least a little. Two full generations have passed since the class of 1888 Went into the World, but with our growth and development, let us not forget those who set the patternifor us 50 years before. Their achievements in the face of difficulties now removed have made pos- sible our graduation at this time.
