During the summer, he attended a summer camp where he won 2 su- perior ribbons, one for his L pattern and one for conducting. Besides practicing, Iones work- ed part time at Straw Hat Pizza. I don't regret not having more spare time for myself. The more I practiced the better I got, and the en- tire band benefitted from that. Iones planned to attend Cal Poly OF A DRUM MAIOR in Pomona or Sonoma State Univer- sity and major in computer science. He planned to become a member of the college band. The best part about being drum major was gaining the other band members'respect and being able to take charge, said Iones. - Audrey Anderson Seniors . . .
