Experience helps team by John Brooks One maln reason for Pitt's success ln hoop was the experience they galned over the season. Seven varsity players returned, Including 8 who started last season, and were as follows: Jerome Mixon, Trent Scott, Raymond Bursey, Marzel Price, Scott Fryar, Charles Mathias and Kenny Weary. Coach Curtis Atkinson said, hav- Ing 7 players back is probably the maln reason for wlnnlng. Alongvwith experlence, they also improved their free throwlng and had strength from the bench. Atkinson added, Our team really hustled a lot all season long and really showed that they can ploy well together as a team. Varsity hoopsters also included senlors June Dones, James Harper, Clarence Washington, and Terry Pierce. Juniors were Sedwin Soberon and James O'Neal.
