Honors English benefits many by Kristine Styers any academic students enrolled in the Honors English class because they knew a college education was impor- tant. The honors course is much more difficult than a regular college preparatory class. Mrs. Anne Morris said, ln this class you study more material and read about 12-18 major works every year. Students realized the ben- efits. David Jeans, an honor student commented, Mrs, Mor- ris and the class help prepare students for almost any major college in the United States. lt's not the class itself, but a school inside of a schooI. Brent Britcil said, Mrs. Morris piled the work on but l feel it will help us to be better college students. Honors' students attended plays, such as Macbeth. They also took a field trip to the Renaissance Fair. Barrow commented, It's a very good idea to advise a class for four years, because you're able to see them grow and mature. You become attached to each individuaI. Willie described the class of '85 as an, aggressive and talented class. They were very motivated and got things done. They're one of the best classes we've had here at Pittsburg High. Kearson Malmgren said. They've been very helpful and supportive to the class throughout the years. Joseph Silno added, They have helped us much more than advisors had to. Both advisors dedicated their time to help in activities and motivate the class.
