Star Search replaces show by Kim Walters At the beginning of March, auditions were held for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum but the turnout was small, creating the need for an alternative. For many people, auditions for the show were a first and disappoint- ment fell on all who were aware of the bad news. Mr. Orrin Cross disappointedly said, We've always had a huge turnout for the spring musical. l don't know what happenedl Lack of spirit, publicity, or the 2.0 no F rule? Cross and Mr. Terry Valentine whipped up an entirely new idea with some surprising twists. Why not have a talent show with some prize money? asked Cross. Immediately, details had to be worked out since the performance date was March 29. Auditions were held to select 21 of the 50 groups. Stagecrafts classes were the maln back bone of the production of Star Search where real Ilfe judges scored the different groups in acting, singing, dancing, musicians, and modeling. Talent scouts were present and perhaps somebody or some bodies would be the star evryone had been looking for. 1. Mlml Coblseno, Chrls Callca, and Darcy Jano wlcz hang stars for a galaxy effect. 2. Chrls Callco and Klm Walters listen to Mr. Cross' dlrectlons. 3. Stacl Moran, Mlml Cobiseno, and Chrls Callco palnt the rocket flat. 4. Members of the Stage Craft class tighten lights on the star. 5.
