Superman wins 1st place by Resse de Pano Lloyd Peterson as Superman won 1st place In the Halloween contest, Charmele Wonk took 2nd and Cherlene Lewls won 3rd. Students became Cindy Lauper, Crayons, M6M's, clowns, dolls, hillbil- lles, princesses, ballerlnas, hunch- backs, dancers, Indians, gelshas, navy offlcers, punk rockers, nuns, Raggedy Ann, ghost busters, Mr. T's, grandmas, dlsploylng different personalities. Thls year's Halloween costume contest was held In the quad during lunch time. The judges of the contest this year were teachers and students, Mrs. Jean Gumlna, Mr. Jack Tackett, Frances Oncena, Tom Trice and Suzanne Becker. Lashon Craig, Assemblies Com- mlssloner commented. We had a lot of people out there dressed for Halloween. 25-30 students actually partlclpated In the competltlon. Teachers also dressed up as, bumble bee, nun, hlpple, mime, bag lady, Al Capone, jelly beans, and cowboys. 1. Lloyd Peterson, Dawn Asmundsen, Pattl LaCas.se, Marisa Demetrakopulos, John Brooks, Sheryl Puckett, and Llsa Mondragon show off their costumes at the contest. 2. Greg Watkins, Dlana Keats, and Rlchard Watkins have a hlppy sesslon. 3. Lloyd Peterson, as 'LSuperman prepares to fly. 4. The Genie, better known as Jeanne Humphrey, ls on her way to see her master. 5. Mr. Randy Jang buzzes to class. 6. Llsa Alvarez and Regina Harrls do time wrltlngs ln Mr. Dexter's class. Rallies begin spirit by Diana Velez Rallies helped support football and basketball games with spirit and enthusiasm. Tony Blackman, spirit commis- sloner, worked with her committee to plan rallies with various spirit stunts and a wlde variety of student participation. The purpose of the rallies was to promote school spirit throughout the school and to enhance the spirit throughout the community. Beatstreet rally was successful, consisting of a rapping and breaking contest, involv- Ing many people, Including Desmond Smith, a local DJ. Other themes were Purple Rain, and Pirate Hoedown . RALLIES
