Ski clubs differ by Dina Duran The Snow Club and the Water Ski Club, which sound alike, were very dlfferent. Under the dlrectlon of advlsors. Sara Jean Wood, Andy Aiello, Joanie Orlando, and Jess Leber, the Snow Ski club sold burrltos and vlsors at football games, popcorn, Chrlstmas candles, and worked Blngo on Sundays. The club Is very anxious to go skiing, sald advisor Wood. Presiding offlcers were: David Jeans, president, Kristine Styers, vlce-presldent, Kearson Malmgren, Secretory, Natalie Narez, secretary, Patti LaCasse, ICC rep., Eddie Bokinski and Brent Blrtcel, Sgt.-at-arms. Unllke the Snow Ski Club, the Water Ski Club dldn't have any fundraisers. The club pald thelr own way on trlps and shared costs for food and gas. lt's funny. We started with the smartest offlcers we ever had and they fell flat on thelr face, sald Water Skl Club advlsor, Ralph Smlth. The result was that the Water Ski Club dldn't have offlcers. Pep, Block, PAC thrive by Colleen Parent, Alicia Moore Pep, PAC, and Block P thrived this year. Pep Club, advised by Mr. .lim Wagner and Mr. Bruce Dexter, promoted school spirit among the students. Members supported and attend- ed rallies, football and basketball games. Pep club had many fund raisers, selling garters, and pennants. Dexter commented, This has been our most active year by far. l Wagner agreed, saying lt's been an Q enjoyable year. - Presiding officers were: Sheon Rivers, president, Sheryl Puckett, vice-president, Lisa Mondragon, secre- tary, Philomena Cardinale, treasurer, Kristine Styers, ICC representative, and Patti LoCasse, Fund raising chairperson. Performing Arts Club CPACJ at- tracted students interested in music, drama, or other fine arts and was advised by Mr. Orrin Cross III. They were involved in fund raising for field trips and the produc- tion of concerts and plays. Presiding officers were: Margie Acuna, president, David Troia. vice- president, Stacey Castiglione, secre- taryftreasurer, and Louis Esposito, Sgt.-at-Arms. Block P was another popular club. lt was open to anyone earning a freshman, J.V., or varsity letter. Sale of letter jackets, field trips and how to acknowledge the letterman or woman was discussed at meetings. Presiding officers were: Martin Soares, president, Mike Crespo, vice- president, Debbie Clawson, secretary, Evette Castillo, treasurer, and Brook Osborne, ICC representative. Ken Stott advised.
