Music groups have ability by Merideth Fike Jazz choir contained the best singers in the school, and they all had great potential, stated Jazz Choir director, Mr. Terry Valentine. The singers had to have some past experience and all passed an audition. The choir pertormed at the district tour, a spring show, Paul Mason Winery, Bear Valley Lodge, local churches, and graduation. 16 singers were in the choir. Jazz band contained 13 players, ranging from drum, piano, trumpets, trombone, bass guitar, and saxo- phones. They played at the LMC Jazz Festival, winter concert, the district tour, and social clubs. Director, Mr. Orrin Cross, lll, said, Even for such a young crowd, they all had a good sense of style and played real well. To be a member of Jazz Band, students had to be able to play a jazz instrument and read music. 1. Dave Hart, Tina Collins, and Louis Esposito play as Mimi Cobiseno tries to pick up the saxophone finger rings from Dave Hart. 2, Mr. Valentine does warm-ups before they do a song and dance routine, 3. Nicole Levy, Antonia Ackerman, Deborah Green, Klm Walters, Anita Stanton, Nicole Alello, Lisa Mondragon, LeAnn Pickering, Becky Walters, Darcy Janowicz, and Cathy Sanchez sing around the piano, 5.
