The quiet weight room suddenly came alive as the cheerleaders chanted ln unlson. They worked in this room because. everyone could be there. Plus, there weren't many people around to bother us, head cheerleader Debbie Clawson said. The more popular cheers were, Elevate Your Mind and The Smurf. Every once ln a whlle, words were made up to the cheers, but usually they came from the past. The group attended camp and returned with many new Ideas. Tgggi kilil n, Qggggi Sroffers make publications by Resse DePano Due to my outstanding year- book editors, GALLEON editors, Pizz and the Student Leadership class, publications has been a true joy this year. We had many students who were outstanding staffers, comment- ed Joan Foster, advisor. The staff members were divided into class sections. Their tasks included making layouts, writing copy, cap- tions, meeting all deadlines and making sure everything was proofed before turning into the editors. 26 dedicated members worked hard to help produce the yearbook. During the 1984 summer, the yearbook editors attended Yearbook West, a camp that is devised to help produce better yearbooks. They came back with new tantalizing ideas and a better knowledge and understand- ing of the rights and wrongs of a yearbook. Once the yearbook was planned, they crusaded through town determined to get ads. We knew in order to make our yearbook successful, we had to get ads, because without them, we wouIdn't be able to produce a yearbook. Also, the money enables us to purchase extra pages and more color pictures, commented Natalie Narez, business manager. Kristine Styers, Editor-in-chief of THE GALLEON, along with her co- editors Jennifer Puccio and Sherry Stiglich, worked hard making sure the copy for the newspaper met its deadline to Marck Henry in the ROP class. I don't think people understand what a difficult task we have producing two publications. Luckily, l am very fortunate to be able to work with such wonderful, dedicated students, added Foster.
