She ran for president in Central Junior l-ligh's 8th grade which helped her prepare for what was ahead in high school. Also, her political colleagues encouraged her to ga for lt . She said, The Class of '86 was hard working. They just needed someone to motivate them. She felt that she was the one to do just that. They had a lot of goals and Blackman felt they attained them. Blackman's advice to the next junior class president was, Don't get frustrated. Stick to what you believe. Don't let anyone discourage you. Always remember, a good leader ls a good follower.
