Council Deals Wit For the first time since IU56 the student r-ouneil played host to the Diahlo Valley Inter-school Council. Ahout 60 students and advisors coming from six different schools enjoyed the theme of the meeting. Leadership With a Beat. It included music by a eomho made up of loeal hoys. which emphasized the Conferenee theme. The major project for this semester. however. was the safety eampaign under the leadership of Noel Nellis and the entire student eouneil. 'ljhis eam- paign was put on to halt traffie aeeidents. The main idea was to stop drinking and driving on the night of the junior Prom and other aetivities. Student eouneil meetings were full of interest. Iisually the memlrers eame in noisily. in a way eharaeteristie uf all teenagers. During the first semester President Max Basque ealled the meeting to order. Viee-President Noel Nellis led the pledge of allegiance and Seeretary Elsie Nlaefarlane read the minutes of the previous meeting. New and wld husiness followed with the eommittee reports.
