At the beginning of his third season Coach Bill Davis had his eyes set on winning the league cup and believed that with seven lettermen the Chances were good. This was Bill Kenneyls third year as golf coach. The golf team had one returning letterman with eight other boys, six of whom were sophomores. Thrs year's team with experienoe and know-how gave Pittsburg a swlmming team of which it could be proud. Members practiced hard under the coaching of Mr. Joe Lee and were soon ready for their Diablo Valley Athletic League opponents. Two returning lettermen this year were Felice Calderoni, '58 varsity captain, and Richard Straub, '58 B captain.
