Diablo Pacifica .. Alhambra . Alhambra . Finishing the season with five wins ond six losses was this year's iunior varsity basketball team. Although this team has no regular league schedule nor games, it is a team to be recognized and to be proud ot. There is no regular schedule since many coaches prefer to use the games as an opportunity to give the sophomores and iuniors on their varsities more game exper- ience. Only sophomores and iuniors are on the iunior varsity. The iunior varsity holds regular practice sessions daily after school in the girls' gym and occasionally scrimmages with the varsity or B basketball teams. The players do not receive awards or earn letters as do the varsity or B teams. This is Coach John Conley's third year as coach. He also coaches junior varsity baseball.

Charles Glover Al Linde Dave Pearson John Coray Guard Forward Center Guard Fourth Straight Championship For the fourth straight year Coach Andy DeStefano's B basketball team came out on top as the DVAL basketball champs. This is Coach DeStefano's fourth championship squad in the seven years he has coached the Pirate B basketball team. This year's team has won 25 straight league games dating back to 1957. Three boys won honors on the All-county teams. They were Bob MoFfett and Charles Qoverlfbqth first-string All-coimty, and Willie Mickey, second-string All-county.fGeorge Smylie got honorable mentionAAll-counE Bob Moffett was elected season captain by his tedmmates, who also chose Charles Glover as most valuable player. Glover broke both the scoring and rebound records in Pittsburgh high. His new- established record is 227 points and 21 l rebounds.
