One of tne main purposes at the FBLA is To encourage awareness ot business occupations and learn developments in business through the use ot training facilities. Members benetit from what they learn in many ways about various business careers. The club is under the supervision of Mrs. Rachel Sisson and Miss Carrie Belling who act as advisers. During the course ot the year the members visited large corporations in the Pittsburg area to gain more understanding in the choice of business careers. Other club activities were installation banquets and a picnic at the end ot the year. 50

The Newtonian club, under the supervision ot Mr. John Collin, Mr. Clarence Walden, and Mrs. Dorothy Shirley, is in its second year. The aims of the club are to stimulate interest, understand the importance of and learn the practical application of science and mathematics. Members will take trips to various industries and see movies having to do with science and math. One of the major committees of the club is the membership committee. The iob of this committee is to see it new members wanting to ioin meet the requirements of the club, This committee also sees to it that members are present at meetings. The Pittsburg l-ligh School's Future Teachers club completed its second year of existence. The club was originated in September, l956, under the supervision of Mr. Fox, and has been continued this year under the guidance of Miss Virginia lvlabey. The members of this club are those students interested in the teaching profession. The primary purpose of the club is to encourage interest in the field of teaching and to inform the students as to what the field is actually like. One of the club's main activities is in practice teaching. The student chooses the grade he expects to teach when he becomes a student teacher. Thus he gains a comprehensive view of the profession. 51 -1 lbs
