LEFT TO RIGHT are Paul Kayfetz, JoAnn Olvera, Levi Glasper, Elsie Macfarlcine, and Arlene Bonarl. Spring Council Levi Glasper Mr Macfarlane President Advisor This year, your Student Council has faced some confusing times. First of all, we do not have the leadership class. Those of us who are now working on the Council realize the great importance of this class. lt is sincerely hoped that next year we may once again include the leadership class for your Student Council. As your Student Council advisor, I hope the knowledge gained in your council work will inspire you to seekr further knowledge that you might prepare yourselves for the solution of the many problems facing your community, your state, your nation, and the world. Those of you who have taken part in the Student Council work and activities of your school have already shown a willingness to assume responsibilities beyond your requirements. It is this willingness to do a little more than is required of you in your school today which will surely make you the leaders of your community tomorrow. We must all remember that most of the progress in ways of peace and civili- zation has come out of confusing times such as these. The highest determination of men and women with peaceful souls is that we equip ourselves educationally for a free world. Sterling Macfarlane 41
