Mrs. Simson is the supervisor ot all the cafeterias in Pittsburg. They con- stantly try to improve the appear- ance ot our campus by keeping it neat and clean. The Senior Patrol has, to some extent, aided the cus- todians but their job still remains a busy one. The daytime head custodian is Ratzi Bonanno. Needless to say, stu- dents may always see Ratzi and his assistants dusting, sweeping, or do- ing general clean up work. The nighttime head custodian is Tom Dilxflercurio, another hard worker. Miss Olivia Hunsinger, the school nurse, has Libra ry Library Service SITTING, Left to Right: Mrs. Reed, Librarian, John Coray, Joe DiMaggio, Tom Fiscus. THIRD ROW: Kay Huffman, Jo Anne Schutt, Sarah Christian, Marietta Russo, Diane Petrini, Olga Gonzales, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Geraldine Our library is a very important tool, used by every student throughout the school. The library is looked upon as a helping hand to those students who obtain information through the library. The library service class is to help students learn to file and use the library equipment properly. The library methods class was set up for the students who would have the advantage of having a class in the library. It emphasizes the improve- ment in reading ability, stimulation of reading interest, familiarity with a wide variety of books, and ability to do reference and research work in high school and later in college. Library Methods SITTING, Left to Right: Katherine Fortune, Kathleen Horan, Anita Reed, Josephine Mercurio, Tony Padilla, Suzanne Ward, Claire Runckel, Judy Gundershaug, Marla Rubottom, Mark Tornheim. Mr. Edwin Tyson replaced Mrs. Reed as librarian when she resigned at midyear to loin her husband in Hawaii, ea lth Service Miss Baer, Library Clerk, Mrs. Reed, Librarian. made efficient use of her thermometers and band- aids, ably assisted by Miss Lillian Nelson, her secretary. Miss Hunsinger has been with the school system for thirty-three years. Her offices are in the health unit in the central administrative office for the De- partment of Health Services of the district. Miss Hunsinger and Miss Nelson, along with Dr. Harold Geist, clinical psychologist, work whole- heartedly together to help the students. All in all, the whole year proved to one of great service for the students, largely because of the help given by these able people. Miss Nelson, Secretary, Miss Hunsinger, School Nurse.
