DEDICATION We the PilliScA Staff dedicate this volume to a beloved member of our faculty whose inimitable ad¬ monitions ha ' e become veritable proverbs to hundreds of boys who have learned vocational work through his instruction and guidance. Through his efforts his boys have brought home trophies awarded by county, dis¬ trict, state and nation. In 1940, he was voted the Master Vocational Teacher of North Carolina. His work is not complete until He goes on Sunday to the church And sits among the boys”- and teaches them about the Master Carpenter. Yes, to MR. H. C. JOHNSTON, busy, cheerful, kind, and gracious, we affectionately dedicate the annual of ’51 and ’52.

FOREWORD Many are the things which we, in the pride of our efforts, are hoping for this volumn of the PiHiScA. First, we are hoping that it may strengthen the loyalty to our school, which we feel to be embedded in the hearts of each of you.
