LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the Seniors of Pittsboro High School, Chatham County, State of North Carolina, being of sound minds and disposing memories, and being aware of the uncertainties of life, do make publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament, hereby revoking any and all other wills and testaments by us heretofore made. Item 1. We leave to the faculty our thanks for their patience, encouragement, and personal interest in each of us. We wish for them successful years in the guidance of the youth who follow. Item 2. We will and bequeath to the Junior Class, the first bowls of soup in the lunch room, all the best seats on the buses, and the stubs to our tickets to Washington, D. C. Item 3. Lou Riggsbee leaves her engagement ring and good nature to Betty Jean Screws. Item 4. Nancy Williams hereby bequeaths her Algebra brain to Linda Durham. Item 5. Jimmy Neighbors wills his glasses to Buddy” Gales so he will, at least, look intelligent. Item 6. Bobbie Jean Powers donates her dependability to Clarice Durham. Item 7. Franklin White hereby bequeaths his authority on the subject of women, in the field of winning and understanding the fairer sex, to said recipient. Gene Howard. Item 8. Janette Foushee leaves her sense of humor to Carl Balchmann. Item 9. Warren Durham leaves his tall, dark and handsome ways to James Allen Johnson. Item 10. I, Frances Sanders, hereby bequeath my freckles to Rose Marie Greene. Item 11. I, Bobby Lindley, being of fairly sound mind do hereby take three of my beautiful dark curls and leave them to Charles Broyles. Item 12. Barbara Fogleman leaves whole footedly her mysterious ballet steps to Margaret Ellen Strowd. Item 13. Charm Braxton leaves his ability to sit on the basketball bench without getting splinters to Lynn Clegg. Item 14. To Patsy Jones, Pauline Ellis leaves her Job in the lunchroom. Item 15. Garrett Screws leaves his dark, wavy hair to Betty Howard. Item 16. To Annie Don Chester, Beulah Keck leaves her ability to play basketball. Item 17. Harold Harris leaves his fine defensive ability in the game of football, to Lea Powell, hoping that he will play better ball next year. Item 18. Catherine Yates, being of sound mind, and acting according to the authority vested in her, does hereby bequeath to Betty Howard her ability to master the art of basketball. Item 19. Shirley Riggsbee leaves his great French brain to Buster Crisp, whom he hopes will receive better benefit from it than he did. Item 20. Ruby Roberson, being of sound body, hereby bequeaths to Rose Marie Green her skill and art of controlling and mastering that new device called the automobile. Item 21. I, Billy Joe Clark, leave my Geometry brain to Wayne Chester. Item 22. I, Earl Thomas, being short on all removable material, do hereby withhold all that I might have. Item 23. I, Gerald White, leave to David Rakestraw my height, in hopes that he will stop being looked down upon. Item 24. Atlas Phillips leaves his extremely large school bus to the smallest driver of the coming year. Item 25. Seeing the unfortunate condition of Clarence Loyd Durham, Robert Petty wishes to leave him his golden tooth. Item 26.
