MEMORIAL A man dedicated to his task ... He liked to work. Idleness was not in him. A lover of the soil and the things growing out of it . . . and living upon It. Always cheerful and friendly . . . Ready to get up and go anywhere to accommo- date someone. A pleasing laugh . . . setting a warm glow all about him. We have fond memories of the late Mr. Dee M. Cooper . . . WHOM WE SHALL NEVER FORGET.

DEDICATION Of all the teachers who have shared our joys, helped direct our thoughts and actions, shared our hopes, and filled our lives with love there is one who stands alone. Untiring service and help to the students working under her has spurred many boys and girls to accomplish success that would have otherwise lost. An encouraging word spoken at the right moment, a reprimand given sternly, but gently, has been her trade mark. We call her a friend, a companion, a leader, and an outstanding teacher. Service to the youth of the community has taken her beyond the classroom. Her work has not stopped with the three o’clock bell. She has done hours of office work for the school; she has coached basketball; She has sponsored annuals and F.B.L.A. Above all she has given of her own private time to help and counsel stu- dents. Because. of her untiring efforts in the behalf of her students, her school, her friends, her church, and her community, we the students of Pitkin High School wish to dedicate this the 1965 yearbook to Mrs. Gilda Rae Richmond. She will always remain a part of our youth, for she has left a lasting impres- sion on our lives.

MEMORIAL • . . Since God in his infinite wisdom has seen fit to take from our midst our friend and fellow student, Edward Wayne Gibson, we the Junior Class of 1965 dedi- cate this memorial. Away I cannot say, and I will not say That he is dead. He is just awayl With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand. He has wandered into an unknown land, And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be, since he lingers there. And you--oh you, who wildest yearn For the old time step and the glad return- - Think of him faring on, as dear In the love of There as the love of Here; . . . Think of him still as the same, I say; He is not dead - he is just — away”. James Whitcomb Riley
