TIGER '63 CO-EDITORS . bettvjohnsom DORMAN JACKSON ASSOCIATE EDITORS: SENIOR OASS PITKIN HIGH SCHOOL • PfrWN, LOUISIANA 1UIQ OUR, CO-iOOL_____ A RACE 70 STUDV. . . To the tables down in first grade The school, sprawling with buildings both old and new seems strange, even frightful to the first grade child. However, he soon becomes familiar with the daily routine including numbers and draw- ing. ” The year ends and the results of all the studies are shown. Whether it be a stroll down the hall to get the kinks out or just a few minutes chat about basket- ball trophies before the next class, a break from the daily grind of studying is always in order. AMD RELAX- ■ . . A FR ENDLY RACE . . . In spite of an ever increasing enrollment, Pitkin High School remains a friendly school. Students are more than just a number or name in the book. Many lasting friendships are made here. The auditorium is a place to make new friends or to meet old ones. In the auditorium one can always find someone will- ing to talk to him or maybe even listen to him. To the dear old high school gym we love so well. . . Long after the hard earned diploma has been received, certain memories at Pitkin High School will never be forgotten, the many heated discus- sions. . . the walks to and from classes, and the many pleasant hours spent in the gym. Although return- ing alumni find many outward changes, Pitkin High School will always remain the same. RICf-f IN TRADHIOM DEDICATION We, the Seniors of 63' wish to dedicate the Pitkin yearbook to Mr. Andrew Pollard, who has been the janitor of Pitkin School for 16 years. We are deeply pleased with the way you have kept the school grounds, buildings and etc., clean and in shape. As we go our separate ways we want to wish you, with all our hearts, the sincere happiness one may find. We hope you have enjoyed us as much as we have enjoyed you. The Seniors of 63'wish you the best of luck in the future. Yours truly. '63 Graduates PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Dear Students, Fruits cannot be grown without the previous planting of seeds. Great leaders do not arise spontaneously in the midst of a people; they come because they have been nourished and developed by conditions and institutions. The seeding times of leadership are the days on the high school and college campus; but the campus does not sup- ply results only the hopes and dreams. It is our sincere hope that you who are leaving us, and you who shall remain, will have nourished your hopes and dreams, we have helped plant in you the desire to become the worth while citizen and leader we know you are capable of being.
