DR. T. J. KELLY Supervising Principal Our supervising principal, Dr. Thomas J. Kelly, has been at Pitcairn only two years. He has contributed much in helping to make our fu- tures successful. He has prepared us to meet our problems and overcome them. Most of all he has shown us the desire to practice the Golden Rule, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The senior class of 1953 would like to express its appreciation for his endless efforts. Miss Helen Dobson and Dr. Thomas J. Kelly 14 miniA tration 2 if .ies ' ' - . iii:Li, I MR. C. birecfvl' . . . or UUR TELECAST Wigtdom 0 The 14geA During the school term of T952-53, our Board of Education has carried on their ever constant struggle to make Pitcairn High School a school that every member is proud to claim as their alma mater. They willingly gave the school their time and effort to seek the many needed im- provements and immediately set about to tackle each job. Through their vivid observations and long lasting perseverance, they embarked upon the difficult problem of insuring effective light- ing in the school. Realizing the great necessity for proper lighting in the building, the School Board installed soft and indirect fluorescent lights in the library, also included were half of the rooms on both floors. This system of fluorescent light fixtures assures extra soft and instant light- ing. It proves to be easier on our eyes and brouaht brightness to our working centers. Going beyond the general improvements that enable our school to be one of the finest in the valley, the Board of Education considered the comforts of our faculty whose patient and cease- less understanding endeavors us to become better citizens of tomorrow. Discovering the essential need of furniture in the teachers' room, the Board sought to improve the appearance and working conditions by purchasing the furniture. The teachers' room now has an atmosphere of cheer- fulness in which every member of the faculty finds it very satisfactory to do their many chores. The members of the Board of Education re- main the same as the preceding year. They elected one new teacher, Mr. Walter Antimarino, to the faculty's staff. Pitcairn High School will continue to be a place of pride as long as we have this capable, industrious, and enthusiastic School Board to take a vital interest in our welfare and future.
