The Junior class of 1951-1952. hy taking part in most of the activities in P. ll. was the most outstanding Junior class ever to pass through these ivyless halls. Beginning the year with a hang. we elected as our class officers the following students: Pres- ident-Ray Borstg Xv1CO-PFPSiCll'llt-Jilll1Ct' Bal- lengerg Secretary-Roberta Adams: Treasurer- Joc Rizzo. Also elected were Joanne NVhitfield and Chuck Oyerly as student Council representa- tives. During the first week of school we rushed around preparing for our first Trafford Victory Dance. YVe held it at the Community Club because a new ceiling was being installed in the gym. Then in Noyember we held our second Victory Dance. This was possible because we played Trafford twice in the same year. an event which had neyer before happened. lloweyer. the game was snowed out and played Nlonday afternoon. XVe still held a dance Saturday night in spite of this cancellation. XYith all the decora- tions which we worked so hard to put up. we made the gym look ginger-peachyfi On Klon- day night we held the Second Victory Dance. Both dances were yery successful. Speaking ofthe football team. we surely had a good one. Although heavily overbalanced hy seniors. eyery junior on the squad gave a good account of himself. some filling in for injured first stringers and some running first team. The players were Joe Rizzo. Ray Borst. Chuck Ross. Jack lleaps. and Jerrv Roberts, with Xlilford -Xdams. and Bill Best as managers. UNIOR . . . The Self-Educated Are Marked By Stubbom Peculiaritiesu-Issac D'Isra1li Many of the girls belonged to the Clee Club. We also had a few band members in our class. Carmel Nlignogna. Arlene Dunsmore and Connie Irwin were majorettes. lncidentallv. Sandra Keeley and Jean Deighan with the rest of the cheerleaders did a good job keeping the team inspired. ' The girls also dominated the Junior Press Club and this group published the much-read t'Hi-Lighter. The Hi-Lighter reporters includ- cd: Robe1'ta Adams. Florence Del.etis, Joyce Thomas. Vivian Alcorn. Leo Litzinger. Paul XYoods. XVilberta Bowser. and Kathryn Nic- Cafferty. Our class was well represented on the bas- ketball squad with Don Fisher. Joe Rizzo. Wibby Cole. Chuck Oyerlv, Lloyd Lasher. Chuck Ross. Paul YVoods and Norm Davis who again this year wound up on crutches. Harpo QD. Nic- Clainj was a manager. Our class continued to rank high in basketball attendance. XVe won the plaque. awarded by the Student Council to the class with the highest percent of students in attendance. several times. The class presented the play. The Mummy and the Mnmpsf' a three-act comedy. The cast was terrific and. of course. so was the play. This production was directed bv Mrs. Bergman. The class worked very hard to prepare the stage for the play. Nlanv new properties were used. Joanne Malandra assisted Nlrs. Bergman as di- rector. The cast included Don Fisher. Myrrl Helman. Chuck Overlv. Connie Penrod. Paul XVoods. Jerry Lobaugh. Joanne VVhitfield. Ro- berta Adams. June Twardowski. and Sandra Keeley. VVe ended the vear with the animal Junior- Senior Prom which was held on May 9 at the Edgewood Country Club.
