Our Freshmen year went very fast. We had initiations, class parties under the direction of Mrs. A. B. Bergman, class adviser, and of course some school work to keep us busy. Then, oh joy, we were Sophomoresg a thing we hadnit thought possible. We were swept into all the activities such as the minstrel and operetta. VVe got acquainted with all the students from Patton Township. We held a dance and later held a party under the direction of Mrs. D. Ald- rich and Mr. VVm. M. Smith, our class advisers.- There was much excitement toward the end of the year when we ordered our rings. Thenl school was out. Our Junior year brought with it a whirlwind of activities. VVe held Junior dances, sold maga- zines, and sold maroon and white hats with loco- motives on them to Hnance our Prom under the direction ot Mr. XV. Kane our class adviser. VV e held our prom at the Edgewood Country Club and Ben Boden and his orchestra furnished the music. VVe contributed to the field of sports, having 9 football and 7 basketball players on these teams. We presented the play aQuiet Pleaselv in which lean Mueller and Paul Hay had the lead- ing parts. Then spring came and vacation started again. At last our Senior year rolled around with parties, dances, our play, selling refreshments, under the leadership of our class adviser Miss B. Keefer, sponsering our Annual, presenting our Assemblies, raising money for our gift to the High School, and participating in the sports. Then came the grand finale: the prom, school picnic, Baccalaureate, and Commence- ment. Thirteen MW JOHN AFRICA Toadv Preparatory Football 2, 3, 45 Baseball 2, 3, 45 Minstrel 3, 4. CHARLES R. I Fifty-two The Pitcairn Railroaders had a very successful season this year suffering only one defeat in their class to Penn Twp. and losing to Wilkinshurg a class AAU school. The Railroaders heat the classy East McKeesport eleven 15 to 6 and edged Mount Pleasant Ramsey 13 to 12. These were two of their hardest games. Pitcairn crushed Trafford, their traditional rival for 23 years, with a score of 25 to 0. The team lost eleven Senior lettermen, among whom was Bud Lake who was captain of the team for the years ,45 and 716. Although this seems a great loss, the team shouldnit weakened too much due to the lettermen return- ing and the huge squad that Pitcairn had this year. K Seated: W1 Boyd, J. Singiser, R. Singiser, C. The fates ruled out championship honors but Coach Raymond Testais boys were the only team to defeat Irwin, the state-wide champions. Three members of this yearis team received Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic League honors, Robert Sing- iser won the spot as forward on the leagueis Hrst team. Iames Colick won a spot on the second team. Charles Yeager received honorable mention. A new interest was born for basketball in Pitcairn this year and much of the credit for this new sports enthusiasm must go to this yearis basketball team. Good will for Pitcairn was earned by our basketball team. It earned the respect of its opponents. They always played fast-moving and keen-thinking basketball, but win or lose, they played a clean game that won the plaudits of the rivals. Fifty-three Cheer Leaders lst row: S. Mueller, D. Barber J.
