It is virtually impossible as a student here not to become involved in the vivacious spirit of PHS in some way. It is because of the interest and participation of both the students and faculty that Pisgah is able to progress. Remember, the future of our school is determined largely by the attitude of the students. So, in this new decade, the 1970’s, let’s do away with apathy. Let’s face its new challenges and strive for higher goals. Most of all, let’s make Pisgah High a part of it by keeping it active and alive. 4 oj doni ni dfidsi .; .2-4 OaHL oj donts nt . d EclicaHon. . 6 cSEnioz dlis±±acj£: 7 udzni -Jjifs . -35 . 36-33 CU . 54- 7 . Mrs. Howell has done more than what was required of her, in that she has also become a friend to all students and an advisor to many. Her friendship has not been just to individuals, it has been extended into sponsoring the National Honor Society. Because of the honor due her, we, the annual staff of 1970, dedicate this Pisgahteer to Mrs. Joyce Howell. 6 As the realization of graduation draws finally nearer, we seniors must pause to reminisce. The first class to be trapped in the halls of adolescence, (junior high), each of us felt sure that a thirteenth grade would be added when we had completed our twelfth. Now, we are faced with the fact that nothing short ot the end ot the world can keep us from graduation. It is a frightening, exciting, and most of all, a sad feeling. To say goodbye to our friends and activities, our teachers who have loved, taught, and scolded us; and all the life and excitement that is high school leaves an empty feeling. For a while, we will be lost, but after that first fear has vanished, we will look back and smile, remembering our days at Pisgah. £ 2tOT 7 (2[a6.± uizn.il. cSeiiLox du add The 1970 Senior Class Officers are as follows: LeeAnna Dotson, Secretary-Treasurer; Kevin Hall, President; Larry Bryson, V. Dr. Elkan’s topic was “Closed Systems in Space.” Sophomore registration brought many requests for transfers and varied facial expressions. The “mad-hatters” of Pisgah had a field day when the Cheer¬ leaders promoted the 1970 “Hat Day”. 12 Sometimes annual-staffers can just be too helpful! Preparing students for diversified areas of life, Pisgah Senior High allows her students to choose from a wide-ranging field of studies. Each student may choose to pursue a vocational, a business, a general, or a college course. In addition to the general education requirements, Pisgah offers a variety of elective courses to aid the students in their individual interests. Because of the humanities program, the school has been highly accredited and acknowledged by educators throughout the state. Even at the present time, our higli school is trying to incorporate new ideas for new courses which would result in a greater service to the students. Constantly expanding, constantly searching, and constantly improving, this policy represents the curriculum at Pisgah. Vivent les Etats - Unis! 1 can’t do a thing when “He” is looking!
