Mary Ellen Hyde won over other girls at Pisgah in the Miss Betty Crocker contest. History awards were given to Mike Ray and Carolyn Pressley. Citizenship Awards were given to Tommy Hall, Carolyn Pressley, Diane Stamey, and Gary Bryant for their outstanding citizenship.
