The members of the Junior Varsity Football squad are Steve Wells, Mike Sharp, Bill Phillips, Teddy Gragg, Jerry Patton, Gary Wooten, George Thomas, Wells Greeley, Ronnie Howard, George Fish, Tyler Kevin Hall, Mike Smathers, Freddy Brown, and Butch Wright. Buchanan, Kary Waters, Jimmy Powell, Bruce Cay ton, Kim Fortney, JUNIOR VARSITY FOOTBALL SQUAD Coach Turner’s “B” Team completed a successful season this year. Their record was 6—0 and there are some very good prospects among its members for next year’s varsity team. Our J. V.’s averaged 31 points a game to the opponent’s 4 points. They can’t stop the mighty Black Bears! Our varsity football team had a successful season this year. Their record of 6 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie brought coach Boyd Allen’s record as a head coach to 140 wins, 36 losses, and 7 ties. After two years of existence, Pisgah’s record stands as 14—5 — 1. This year Doug Clark set a rush¬ ing record and Robert Allen also made a record with four field goals. We have good reason to be proud of our boys, for three of the seniors won scholarships and several colleges were interested in other players. We are looking forward to a successful season next year with the returning players.

DavidConard, Randy Wood, Ray Hemphill, Danny Long, Wayne Shepherd, are the hard working Bears who make up the 1968 Pisgah High School Carroll Jones, Walter Brown, Bill Trull, Gary Shepherd, Mike Mathews, Varsity Basketball team. Marvin Parrish, Ronnie Deaver, Paul Gillis, Steve Hardin, and Terry Brown VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM Coach Holcombe leads the Bears through a winning season. There is only one word to describe Pisgah’s basketball team-“GREAT.” Experience and depth are the keys to the Bear’s success. When you have outstand¬ ing players blended with a fine coach, the results are not surprising. For the only possible result is an outstanding team. Pisgah has high hopes for the District tournaments. Coach Holcombe has fired the boys with courage and determination to the bitter end. Our boys have played fine ball the whole season long and everyone at Pisgah is proud of them.
