LATIN CLUB The officers are David Conard, president; Martha Barkby, sergeant-at-arms; Joy Holland, treasurer; Sandra Brackett, vice-president; Butch Willard, secretary; and Mr. Teague, sponsor. The Pisgah Senior High School Latin Club is sponsored by Mr. Jarvis Teague. The purpose of the club is to interest and acquaint students with Roman culture and its relationship to our culture. They accomplish this by learning the Junior Clas¬ sical League motto and creed, by bulletin boards, and by slave day, costumes, and plays. CERVANTES Cervantes se organizo en el ano 1966 cuando el espanol comenzo a ensenarse en nuestra escuela. Para ser miembros hay que ser estudiantes de la lengua espanola y tener mucho interes en la lengua y los paises que hablan espanol. Cervantes was organized in 1966 when Spanish was first taught. The qualifications for membership are that the student must be taking this language and also have a special interest in it. One of the main objectives of the club is the study of the language and culture of the Spanish-speaking coun¬ tries. The Spanish Club is fortunate to have Miss Inez Blay, a native of Cuba, as their sponsor. Theofficersof the Spanish Club work hard and diligently to make their many activities suc¬ cessful.
