The Latin Club of Pisgah Senior High School has just been reorganized for this school year. At Christmas the club sponsored a Christmas card contest and had beautiful entries. In May, as is the custom, the Latin Club will have its annual Roman banquet. The first year students will be the slaves while the second year Latin students will preside as gods and goddesses. The decora¬ tions and entertainment always make this an unforgettable event. Leading the Latin Club are Rebecca Dayton, vice-president; Nina Haney, president; Linda Carter, secretary; Mrs. Cathey, sponsor; and Lynn Hyatt, treasurer. Latin Club Makes Caesar Come Alive Members of the Latin Club include Ernie Hall, Brenda Snelson, Kim Harbinson, Cherry Cody, Doris Ford, Kathy Buchanan, Ricky Miller, Ever¬ ett Stiles; Mike Ray, David Conard, Keith Griffith, Jim Woody, Mike Med¬ ford, Welfred Hooper, Max Bumgard- ner; Dennis Childers, Rego Jones, Mike Smathers, Jimmy Powell, Jerry Rhinehart, Ronnie Denver, and Roger Henson. Other members include Deborah Allan, Jane Smathers, Becca Rob¬ erts, Carolyn Pressley, Elaine Elliot, Terri Bar¬ rett; Mary Ellen Hyde, Darlene Earley, Marsha Willis, Linda Mills, San¬ dra Bracken, Ella Mae Wooten; Wanda Welch, Katie Hall, Dianne Med- lin, Wanda Miller, Wilma Jones, and Patricia Dav¬ is.

J- ' J- DECA Club Emphasizes Work and Study The Distributive Education Club is designed to develop future leaders for marketing and to promote understanding and appreciation for the responsibilities of citizenship in the free com¬ petitive enterprise system. Pisgah ' s DECA members work various places ranging from supermarkets to clothing stores to nursing homes. The DECA Club is sponsored by Mrs. Sarah Nicholls and is under the leadership of the following officers: Larry Rudd, president; Gerald Hamlett, vice-president; Bertha Bryant, historian; Becky Thomas, secretary; and Doug Earley, treasurer. Phyllis Woodard parliamentarian, is absent from the picture. ’ 92

The officers of the FTA Club are Peggy Lanning, reporter; Alta Foster, treasurer; Mrs. Alice Cathey, sponsor; Janis Smathers, president; Judy Westmoreland, secretary; and Margaret Mitchell, vice-president. The Future Teachers of America is best known around Pisgah for their humorous initiation. All new members digress to first graders, dressing in short skirts, knee socks, and carrying their favorite stuffed animal. After this initial stage, the FTA club convenes for a year of hard work on their projects. F.T.A. Joins Other P.H.S. Clubs The members of FTA are Anita Smathers, Jane Smathers, Nona Hyatt, Linda Beck, Brenda Snelson; Doris Ford, Shirley Thompson, Rachael Allison, Sharon Craige, Wanda Matthews, Louise Anderson, Susan Pickens; Pam West, Marcia Willis, Darlene Earley, Debbie Brown, Judy Surrett, Linda Reeves, Mary Ellen Hyde; Rebecca Dayton, Anita Arrant, Neal Davis, Gary Singleton, and Becky Campbell.
