The Future Homemakers of America was created to promote a growing ap¬ preciation of the joys and satisfactions of homemaking, and to emphasize the importance of worthy home membership. The motto is Toward New Horizons . This motto is a challenge to its mem¬ bers, for it reminds members that their contributions to home life today will in¬ fluence the kinds of homes they have tomorrow. The officers of the F.H.A. are Mrs. Maree, sponsor; Katy Hipps, secretary; Theresa Wilson, president; Dottie Lanning, vice-president; Sharon Lewis, parliamentarian; Kathy Gibson, reporter; Ann Kyle, historian; Joyce Walker, county coimcil representative; Vickei Davis, treasurer; and Brenda Stamey, social chairman. These students must be in the upper third of their class and be outstanding in some phase of school publications work. Quill and Scroll and Mathematics Seminar Are Two Honorary Societies at Pisgah Members of the Mathematics Seminar are Carolyn Woodard, Nancy Lance, Susan Pickens, Alta Foster, Janis Smathers, Krista Neal; Vick Inman, Rex Bolden, Dennis Grant, Mike Bull, Lynn Sorrells; Eddie Underwood, David Cauble, Gene Michael, Charles Brock, and Neil Davis. Absent from the picture are Judy Westmoreland, Alan Sellars, Mickey Cable, Kent Duckworth, Mike Jimi- son and Bob Wright. Members become eligible to join by maintaining a B” average in the advanced Mathematics class.
