The year had many important activities, of whlchwe are listing a few of the most outstanding. We started off with the maga- zine campalgnon September 16. This year we are looking forward toward a dark room and some cameras wlth which to start a Camera Club. September 20, Class elections! It was some job to get organized, but everybody got there, we hope. This was followed by Senior Class pictures which were taken September 28. The Seniors looked quite 'snazzy'--all dressed up as they were. October 30-a bla Hallowe'en parade fin the ralny and lt was followed by a party with lots of unrecognlzable costumes. November 6, the F.l-l.A.'ers traveled to Dexter for their first district convention. November 23 started the basketball season off, and we had an average as far as wins and losses were Student Council concerned. The Senior play was presented January 14, and 'Wlnterval' followed directly, ln February. March ll, the one-act play contest was held. The Juniors' play was judged the best and they remesented our school at Hlg- gins. Public speaking and spelling contests were also held ln March. Extremely interesting assemblies have been presented by the 'School Assembly Service' and numerous soclals and dances have been held. The year ended just as all school years end--Junior Prom, Baccalaureate, Class Night, and then Graduation. This year lt seems just a little blt special. A new Senior class has been graduatedg the first class to have attended the full six years at P.C.H.S. F38 JUNIOR HIGH CHORUS P C H S CHOIR The band was very fortunate to receive their uniforms last May in time for the Eastern Maine Music Festival The members of the band were very pleas ed with their uniforms and have been putting on excellent performances to show This year the band has played at most of the assemblies and put on a march routine at all the important home games Everyone liked this This year the band has taken part in the County Festival and also in the Eastern Maine Fes tival and has had very good ratings We were fortunate to have a few members able to tame pa rt 111 the State of Maine Music Festival BAN D - - - - - c Q sf. . SE IOR PLAY A Case Cf Springtime January 14, 1955 Bob Parker, a teen-ager, play- ed by R. LaBree, got into trouble with his magic tricks and rabbits. He had to explain how he happened to saw in half his girl-friend, the principal's daughter, played by J. Edgerly. The principal, played by R. Taylor, wanted to have Bob dis- missed from school. When the three ladies from the Parent Teacher's Association came to visit Bob's home the re was a warm welcome awaiting them, prepared by the younger brother, played by G. Campbell. The play finally end- ed with Bob restored to favor with everyone. Bob Parker R. La Bree teen-age son Mr. Parker R. Davidson father Mrs. Parker M. Ames mother Dickie Parker G. Campbell kid brother louella C. Anderson Parker's maid Betty Parker C. Brown Bob's sister Gwen Anderson T. Martelle Dickie s girl friend Joan Abernaker J. Edgerly Bob's girl friend Mr. Abernaker B. Taylor Principal Eddie, P. Curtis Betty's boy friend Mrs. Hill J. Leathers Mrs. James B. Tripp P.T.A, mem- bers Mrs. Brunswick C. Shaw Plainclothes Man L. Vainio The law Miss Bright K. Pinette From the zoo The play was very profitable and we cleared 5211. To help us earn our way to Pennsylvania, all of which made the work seem very worthwhile. The play was coached by our English teacher, Mrs. White. Ridiculous And Sublime The play is built around the blind date of June, QA. Drummondi, whose father, QE. Lankistl, is very much upset. Dick, IJ. Buxtonj, teases June, while she is talking on the telephone for hours at atime, about her date. Irene Burton, U.Graf1, Arthur's wife, with the help of Katy the maid, QA. McKennyD, tries to get the situation back to normal. In the end Mr. and Mrs. Bur- ton agree that children are 'FRI- DICULOUS AND SUBLlME . 'P ill JUNIORS Tell Dorie Not To Cry The story takes place on De- cember 7, 1941, near Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Dorie, CJ. Leathersj, is se- cretly in love with Cliff, the man to whom her sister, Pat, IJ. Ed- gerlyj, is engaged. On Pat's wed- ding day Dorie tells Pat of her love for Cliff. Pat is indignant and very disgusted. While three friends, Georgia QC. Andersonj, Babette QM. Amesl, and Fern QC. Brown, are present, word is brought by Miss Kitchener, KK. Pinettej that Pearl Harbor is being bombed. Later Pat and Dorie learn that Cliff has been killed in battle. SOPHOMORES ONE ACT PLAY CONTEST The Pink Dress Unbeknown to his family, poor, henpecked Mr. Willard U. Amesj has borrowed from the store, where he is em- ployed, an evening gown for his daughter Cora, Uoyce Landerl, to wear to the dance in place of her old pink one. Cora, under the influence of her disillusioned and nagging mother, QN. Bakerl, had turn- ed against him. Desperately she steals an evening gown from the same store, but is seen by detective, Miss Den- nis, QL. Kronholmj. She, with a policeman, QD. Huffj, goes to the Willard house where Mr. Willard, for the sake of his family, covers up his daughter's theft by telling of the dress he had borrowed. However, after Cora and he had been left alone, he tries to show Cora her wrong-doing, packs up both dresses and walks out with them, leaving her with only the old pink one and her conscience. SENIORS STU DE T EXCHANGE At a class meeting held in October the Senior Class of Plscataquls Community High School having carefully considered a class trip or a student exchange voted for the latter On November 4 at A meeting held with their parents the posslblllties of the exchange were reviewed and the parents were found to be interested and offering their help wherever needed. After the parents and the school board had given their consent to the project a committee was ap pointed This committee drew up a form letter which was sent to the capitals of Rhode lsland Pennsyl vanla and Michigan aswell asto the Chamber of Commerce of Clark Summit Pennsylvania Wyandotte Michigan, and Newport Rhode Island After a short time an envelope from Clark Summit was received containing information about that area and on November 22 a class meeting was held to decide whether to accept their invitation to ex change We had been interested in Buffalo New York but found that they were not able to handle as large a group as ours this year and consequently we accepted the Pennsylvania offer The exchange committee assembled literature pictures and facts about all things of interest in our community to send to the Seniors at Clark Stnnmlt High School Each student wrote a short essav on travel and their reasons for wanting the exchange Data sheets were made out giving ou. interests likes dislikes our physical descriptions and all other information that would be of value in picking exchange partners In December a meeting was held and five committees were appointed to handle all business con nected with the project namely program transportation finances sponsorship and housing, The data sheets from Clark Summit arrived January 30 and there was plenty of excitement when the information and pictures of our partners arrived and everyone seemed well pleased For the trip and for use while ln Pennsylvania the transportation commltteecharrered a Maine Central bus costing S670 90 The next thlng was to get a program set up for the six days that the Pennsylvanlans would be in Guilford May ll to May I8 The program committee started a tentative schedule which was finished temporarily by Mr Brown in order to meet the deadline of March 4 when lnltial contacts had to be made with sponsors This schedule conslsts of trips to Bar Harbor including a lobster feed Augusta the Veterans Hospital Colby College Bangor Monson thewoodmill and the Moosehead Lake Region The day after our guests arrive was set aside for a local day to look over the school and the town s industries Sunday was set aside as a family day so that our parmers could get no know our families better These trips and the meals which had to be paid for were sponsored by different organizations and businesses These organizations were very co-operative ln helping the Senior Class to carry on their ex change ln splte of their limited Hnances. 41 ' , - 1 f - I - ' ' .
