QHIE EQH XIBE W WS Most of the traditional school activity was the same this year exceptg freshman no longer sat in the corner of the lunchroom where the seniors once did, the Annual Staff did not sponsor a dance because of lack of funds, and there was no bon-tire at Homecoming because it was feared that the Junior High would burn down. Other last- ing traditional events at Piper lived on and influenced each Piper graduate. Most seniors still went only half a day, in fact more than 8076 of the seniors were present less than six hours, Juniors reluctantly ran the concession stand and put on the Prom, team members still Wore ties on days of games, and purple and white-clad pep club members cheered on their team. Homecoming took place even though student participation was at a minimum. The school song was sung at every pep assembly, except one when the freshman cheerleaders forgot to start it, and the Pirateers performed faithfully at every home game. Tradi- tions at Piper are few but are always followed. 8 The Traditions
