Dedication This year on behalf of the entire student body at Pioneer , the Annual Staff takes pride in dedicating Pioneer ' s eighteenth edition of the TORCH to a teacher who goes far beyond her teaching duties. This teacher was born in 1949 and made her residence in several different places of the world which included Whittier , Los Angeles , St . Louis , Missouri , Santa Barbara , and even Paris , France. She now resides in Seal Beach. She attended high school at Marlborough High in Los Angeles, spent three and a half years at Pitzer College in Clarmont, and also studied abroad at the University of Paris in France . Obtaining her teaching credential at the University of Southern California she received her first teaching position St William S . Hart High School , near Magic Mountain , and finally in 1972 came to Pioneer as an English and history teacher. At Pioneer she is an extreme asset to the faculty as well as the students. She added several new and original classes to the curriculum which included Communication Thru Words and College Skills A and B. Her hobbies are photography, writing, and just being with friends . One of her ambitions is to publish a grammar book which she has been working on for a number of years .
