«. a- c Puwtv Mm MM l oaim I } _ . r-r- 1 I At Puim Meia, MM cIwJ 1986-1987 school ' s theme this year, " Startin ' It meant a new and exciting beginning, theme was very important to us he- cause we were the first students at Pinon Mesa Middle School. We had the opportuni- ty to start the traditions making this school be in the years to come. Betsy Gott " Startin ' It Up " really meant a lot to us. We are the students who will have paved the way for those that follow. We were the first sixth and seventh graders along with a new staff. Being the first gave us a sense of a new and better era. We were the first, but not the last. We hope that those who follow after us will have the same sense of hope and importance. Pam Pierce PiiMipaii Meuctge, 1 A Nod Pum Tke, PuMipai: This yearbook will be a very special memento to me and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. I ' ve been around a while and this is only the second new school I ' ve been able to work in. You have a chance that not every student gets. Opening a new school is exciting, fun and sometimes frustrating. However, I think it is worth it. I am proud of all of you, and count it a joy to be associated with helping build a school with all its programs, activities and friendships. Let ' s work together to make each year a little better. Marty, the mad scientist, comes in with a time machine that he invented. With the stage cleared Santa decides to try the time machine out. As the audi- ence predicts, the time machine takes Santa into the future. While in the future, Santa finds out that he is going to die a year after he retires. His fate will be too much rest and relax- ation. He then returns from the future and meets Marty. While describing his recent journey to Marty, Santa is re- minded of a great idea. If he doesn ' t re- tire, he won ' t die! BACK STAGE. The rehearsal took nine weeks. Mrs. Quinn did a very nice job and she had a lot of pa- tience, especially working with us. The play was excellent. There were hardly any mistakes. One of the characters walked on stage with its ' sign upside-down. During practice, all of the Elves had " fun " sticking their fingers through the windows to watch the play. During the REAL perfor- mance, we had to cover the windows with tin- foil. (We hope that no one noticed!) by Adria White and Michelle Mercer r ■MM fiM lM QECEmiEn The 1987 Christmas Dance was a big success! On Decennber 19 Pinon Mesa had their very first dance. The student council voted to use student funds to have a D.J. His name was Steve JuHar and his music was good and loud. Thanks for coming! It was a good time. miM, ' IcUp!
